Fans of fine cheese won’t want to miss the Festival of Quebec Cheeses, made even more
delectable this year by the presence of the producers of the Grands Vins du
Portugal (lien vers cette page)*. This 5th edition of the event, running
from Wednesday, February 17 to Saturday, February 20 in the Grande-Place in Complexe
Desjardins, offers the public a marvelous opportunity to meet the cheesemakers of
Quebec, whose diverse array of exceptional quality products never ceases to impress.
Our master cheesemakers will be happy to answer your questions and discuss their
creations and the regional qualities that contribute to the flavours and define
the character of their cheeses. Visitors can taste the Québécois “classics” and
make surprising discoveries... all the while enjoying the excellent Grands Vins
du Portugal*, from our featured guest country at this 2010 edition
of the MONTREAL HIGH LIGHTS Festival.
*All consumption of alcoholic beverages is reserved for those 18 years and over.

BOUTIQUE LAIT À LA BOUCHE
The Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec’s mobile boutique Lait à la bouche
will be stopping at Complexe Desjardins from February 23 to 27, as part of the Carrefour
des saveurs. The circular futuristic store will carry close to 40 innovative dairy
products made from 100% Canadian milk.
The visitors will find there value-added milks, flavoured milks, creams, artisanal
cheeses, butters, yoghurts as well as ice milks and creams. Specialists will be
on-site to provide information and offer product tastings as well as recipe ideas.

DISCOVER OUR LOCAL CHEFS AND CHEESES
Cheeses– soft, washed rind, pressed and blue – all locally produced. Four great
chefs. Sixteen inspired culinary creations. And one title to be claimed. The MONTREAL
HIGH LIGHTS Festival is more than happy to welcome the most discerning palates and
noses to the very first edition of this culinary competition of our cheeses!
In what promises to be a memorable evening, four master cooks appear as our finalists,
thrilling taste buds, setting hearts a-flutter and surpassing themselves by each
concocting four original dishes using local cheeses.
Once seated, our guests become judges, with the pleasure of tasting all four courses,
paired with the Grands Vins du Portugal, and choosing which of the chefs in competition
will walk away with the grand prize of $5000. It’s a convivial meal and an unforgettable
experience, where guests will recognize and enjoy the immense talents of our artisans.
